Aubameyang joined Arsenal from the German club last month after making it clear he wanted a move.
The Gunners splashed out around £55m on the Gabon striker, with more cash set to follow in add-ons.
But Manchester City man Gundogan isn’t sure about how Aubayemang went about getting a move.
The ex-Dortmund midfielder said: “I don’t know if I could have done it like Auba did.
“At that time I was also criticised for my open change intentions at BVB. The reaction of the fans I understood a bit.
“But I only wanted to be honest and always gave everything for the club.”
In his interview with German outlet Sport Bild, Gundogan added: “Dortmund loses a very, very good player.
“I very much hope that now peace is restored. Because you need it to be successful in the Bundesliga. All the bickering was certainly not conducive for the performance of the team.
Gundogan spent three seasons with Aubameyang at Dortmund before leaving for City in June 2016 in a £20m deal.
Gundogan left Borussia Dortmund when they needed him the most and now he isn’t impressed with Aubameyang’s move to Arsenal? 😂 what a joke.
@kelvin Auba signed for us so he is scared of because we are going to play against them in the Carabao final.
